Zhongguancun China Science Park

Zhongguancun China Science Park (ZCSP) is China's premier science and technology development centre and was the first state-level high-tech development zone approved by the State Council (May 1988). ZCSP is located in Beijing and comprises seven zones: Haidian Zone, Changping Zone, Fengtai Zone, Yizhuang Zone, Jianxiang Technology Zone, Dasheng Technology Zone and the Electronics City.

More than 10,000 new and hi-tech international and China enterprises, including global giants such as Legend, Stone, Founder, Zhongguancun Science and Technology, Tsinghua Tongfang, and Netease, are residents of ZCSP.  Also present are more than 1,500 R&D centres and hi-tech companies set up by, or invested in, by overseas trans-national companies like IBM, Microsoft, Mitsubishi, as well as 40 overseas-listed companies.  ZCSP is the most important economic growth engine of Beijing which contributes 60% of the total annual industrial growth of the city.  The business income generated from the industry, trade and technology of Zhongguancun Science Park in 2001 accounted for 18% of the total income of all the 53 Chinese national new and hi-tech parks.

The Jianxiang Sector of ZCSP

The Jianxiang Sector of the Zhongguancun China Science Park is located in Beijing's Chaoyang district. It is the science and technology core of both the ZCSP as well as China, and is the most knowledge and talent intensive area of Beijing.  Numerous state-level research institutes are found here including 12 institutes under the Chinese Academy of Sciences responsible for finding solutions to more than 300 major state scientific and technological problems listed in the 10th Five-Year Plan. It has over 10 state Key Laboratories and more than 30 research centres. 
 

Within the sector, there are 44 members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 5 members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 5 members of the 3rd World Academy of Sciences, and a large group of high-quality talented people.

The Jianxiang Sector has abundant resources for scitech and business exhibitions. Many high quality business office buildings such as the Chuangye, Laodong, Huatingjiayuan, Fenglinluzhou buildings are found here.  One of the most important structure is the world-class China International Scitech Convention and Exhibition Centre, a large, comprehensive professional service establishment capable of hosting highly professional state and international scientific, technological and cultural exchanges, conventions and exhibitions.

In support of start-up technologies, commercialisation and integration of business and technology, the Jianxiang Sector provides a range of capabilities and services including business and exhibition/convention  facilities and support, scitech brokerage, investment and financing intermediary services and technical talent exchanges.
