HIGH PERFORMANCE AGDRY AGRIFOOD DEHYDRATION SYSTEM

The AgDry Agrifood Dehydration System is manufactured in China using cutting edge Australian agrifood dehydration technology and design.

The AgDry is a high technology electric dehydration system designed to produce superior quality dried food and agriculture products.

The AgDry system comprises of the super high efficiency dehydration machine and a food engineer designed drying room with stainless steel trolleys of food grade plastic trays with or without food grade liners.

A typical drying operation configuration consists of 6 trolleys with 74 trays of products on each trolley.  The drying system can dry up to 8 trolleys of products at a time but require longer drying time and more energy.

The time required to dry each batch of product vary with the types of products to be dried, the amount and placement of products in each tray and how the products are harvested, pre-treated and prepared prior to drying.

Unlike traditional sun drying and conventional hot air dryers that dehydrate agrifood products by evaporating the moisture from products using uncontrolled high temperature and high speed air that results in high loss of quality components such as nutrition, medical ingredients, flavor, color, texture and storage life, the AgDry dehydration system is a high technology closed air recirculation agrifood drying system that uses low humidity low temperature air to gently remove moisture from products being dried.

AgDry is a highly versatile system that can be used to dry all types of food and agriculture products that includes plant products, animal products, fishery products, processed foods and in particular medical plants with minimal loss of quality and without the use of artificial chemicals, preservatives, protectants, colour or quality enhancers.

As a result, products dried using the AgDry system can be classified as being natural and organic under international food classifications.

Agrifood dehydration is the oldest methods of food preservation.  Once dried, agrifood products have long storage life of up to 6 months to 3 years even without refrigeration, easy and cheap to transport and can be exported to the global markets without restrictions and concerns for quarantine insects and microorganism as is the case with fresh food export.

Dried products packed in vacuum or aluminum lined packaging with gas flushing of CO2 or nitrogen and stored under low temperature and protection from light further extends storage life.

The AgDry system can be highly portable and can be moved from place to place.  The AgDry system can be built into a portable shipping container or as a modified refrigeration truck that can be driven directly to the farms to dry freshly harvest agrifood products to produce a higher quality dried product.  Substantial quality can be lost during long distant transportation, particularly if the fresh products are not pre-cooled quickly after harvest and not packed in proper containers and kept cool at specific low temperatures during transportation.

The AgDry system is highly energy efficient, uses approximately 1/3 of the electricity compare to conventional hot air dryers.

AgDry product drying is automated and computer controlled and the drying operation can be monitored remotely via WIFI or the internet. The system can be installed with various sensors and alarms to detect any malfunctions during drying operation.

Drying parameters such as air temperature, air humidity, air pressure, air speed and air circulation pattern are adjusted automatically as the product dries.

The configuration, shape and size of the drying room, trolleys and drying trays are scientifically designed to allow maximum and even air circulation, exposure to the drying air and efficient extraction of moisture from the products being dried.

The dehydrator and the drying room are developed using the latest food processing and food engineering technology using a modified heat pump technology originally developed in Australia for the drying of Australian wild flowers for export to Japan.

It is important to understand that agrifood drying is part of an agriculture industrial chain that starts with perishable fresh products from the farm to quality maintenance by modern postharvest operations and then being transformed into high quality durable dried products.

The ultimate quality of dried agrifood products starts from the farm where farm location, soil and weather conditions, pest and disease presence, weed prevalence, irrigation systems, variety selection, farming techniques and management, harvest maturity and standards and harvested product management at the farm play critical roles in determining the initial and final quality of the dried product.

A fresh farm product with poor quality will always result in an inferior quality dried product.  Drying technology is not designed to improve the quality of a fresh product.  It is designed to minimize quality loss and extend the storage life of the harvested product.

AgDry products and technology are backed by world class agriculture, postharvest and food processing experts.
